EduTerra self-sustaining terrarium — main view

EDU TERRA

EduTerra is a self-sustaining terrarium designed for secondary school students to explore plant life and water circulation with minimal maintenance just one initial watering is enough. Using sunlight-driven evaporation and condensation, it teaches the natural water cycle in action.

EduTerra also visualizes the nitrogen problem, showing firsthand how excess nitrogen impacts plant growth and ecosystems. Inspired by fungi structures and geometric patterns found in nature, its design merges science and aesthetics into an engaging, hands-on learning experience.

This project was nominated for the Flanders Technology and Innovation Festival under the theme "The Future of Learning". Later, I had the opportunity to join LUCA School of Arts at a conference in Lisbon to present the project.
